Neil Armstrong’s 18K Gold Omega Speedmaster May Sell for Over $2 Million
Neil Armstrong’s 18K gold Omega Speedmaster, a tribute to his historic moon landing, will go up for auction on April 17, 2025, and could sell for more than $2 million.

A historic timepiece from the golden age of space exploration is set to command the auction spotlight.
Neil Armstrong’s personally owned 18K gold Omega Speedmaster Professional, one of the most exclusive watches ever made, will be auctioned on April 17, 2025, at the Royal Sonesta in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Part of an elite 1969 series honoring NASA astronauts, this exceptional Speedmaster (Ref. BA 145.022) is engraved with “Astronaut Neil A. Armstrong, Gemini 8 – Apollo 11,” commemorating his legacy as the first human to walk on the moon.
The caseback bears the inscription: “To mark man’s conquest of space with time, through time, on time.”

With an 18K gold case, a deep burgundy aluminum bezel, and an OM-stamped solid gold dial, this watch epitomizes Omega’s mastery of horology.
Onyx hour markers, black-accented hands, and the revered Lemania-based Calibre 861 movement complete this extraordinary timepiece.

Expected to exceed $2 million, Armstrong’s Speedmaster comes with an official Omega ‘Extract from the Archives’ certificate. Half of the proceeds will support charities chosen by his son, Mark Armstrong, preserving the astronaut’s enduring legacy.

Live bidding begins at 6 PM ET on April 17, 2025, with participation available in person, by phone, or via Invaluable.
