Celebrated for his luminous plein air compositions and ethereal interpretations of urban life, Byrne made his highly anticipated US art fair debut with a curated selection of over a dozen new works, unveiled exclusively at Booth 418.

Many of these pieces were created during his 2024 artist residency in New York City and reflect the dynamic architecture and ambient energy of Manhattan’s streetscape.

The climax of the weekend unfolded on the fair’s final afternoon, when Byrne turned a simple easel and canvas into a living spectacle from 1pm to 4pm.

In a compelling display of technique and vision, he painted a vintage car once exhibited in a museum, previously customised in the style of Jackson Pollock by artist Mark Grimaldi.

Guests witnessed Byrne’s signature brushwork and evocative use of colour emerge in real time, transforming the scene into an immersive art experience.

This captivating moment reinforced Byrne’s reputation as a master of light and mood, with critics and admirers comparing his artistry to a contemporary synthesis of Monet’s fluid expressiveness and Hopper’s contemplative depth.

His ability to distil fleeting impressions into enduring emotional resonance made his booth one of the fair’s most discussed and admired highlights.

Adding to the occasion, luxury menswear designer Todd Snyder named Gerard Byrne as their official brand ambassador for the 2025 edition of the fair, a partnership that underscored the artist’s cross-disciplinary appeal.

Further enhancing the space, Irish design house Orior supplied handcrafted furnishings to complement the aesthetic of the Gerard Byrne Gallery + Studio presentation.

Now in its 19th edition, the Hamptons Fine Art Fair continues to stand as the definitive summer event for seasoned collectors, leading galleries and internationally acclaimed artists.

With over 150 exhibitors from around the world, the 2025 fair offered museum-quality art in an atmosphere of refined elegance.
