It begins not on a racetrack, nor on open water, but in a shared obsession: performance without compromise.

One rooted in carbon fibre and wind tunnels, the other in sails, sea spray and second-by-second instincts. Alfa Romeo and Luna Rossa, two names that have come to define Italian excellence, are now writing their next chapter together.

Alfa Romeo has officially partnered with Luna Rossa, the world-class sailing team preparing to compete for the 38th America’s Cup, the oldest and most prestigious trophy in international sailing.

For the first time, the event will unfold in Italian waters, against the dramatic backdrop of the Bay of Naples. It’s a natural stage for this new alliance: a setting where beauty, ambition and engineering collide.

This isn’t a conventional sponsorship. It’s a strategic collaboration between two highly specialised teams who understand that elite performance comes down to the smallest details.

Alfa Romeo and Luna Rossa will collaborate closely on innovation and performance, with engineers and designers from both sides sharing expertise in areas such as materials science, data analysis, and aerodynamics; the goal is to push further, faster, together.

The announcement was made via a short film featuring Alfa Romeo CEO Santo Ficili, marketing head Cristiano Fiorio, and Max Sirena, Team Director of Luna Rossa.

The tone was personal, reflective, and quietly bold; exactly what you’d expect from two brands that know the weight of their heritage.

“There’s a deep connection here,” Ficili said. “Luna Rossa embodies everything we believe in – performance, elegance, precision and a strong sense of Italian identity.”

Fiorio described the partnership as something far beyond branding. “This isn’t just two logos side by side. It’s a shared way of thinking, a collaborative process that will influence both our worlds.”

For Sirena, the connection is instinctive. “We share roots, spirit, a passion for speed – and yes, even the colour red. This partnership makes perfect sense.”

At its core, this is a story about two worlds meeting not out of convenience, but conviction.

One born in the hills of Emilia-Romagna, the other on the coasts of Sardinia; both united by design, discipline and the idea that true progress only happens when you never stop moving forward.
