Welcome to the Other Copenhagen
An unexpected escape in the heart of Copenhagen, where palm trees, a jungle pool and slow luxury come together with quiet intention.

Imagine a jungle canopy overhead. Palm trees stretching upwards to a glass ceiling, vines draping from balconies, warm air scented with citrus and sandalwood.
There is a pool, deep and still, edged by daybeds and tropical greenery, and the soft hum of ambient music carries through the space.
You are thinking of Bali, but you are, in fact, in Copenhagen.
This is Manon Les Suites, a quietly iconic hotel that defies all expectations of what Danish luxury should look like.

Tucked away behind a modest street façade near the city’s lakes, it is part tropical fantasy, part urban sanctuary, and entirely unlike anywhere else in Scandinavia.
At its core is a striking, five-storey atrium designed around the Junglefish Pool. Suspended walkways and open corridors encircle the courtyard, creating the sensation of a private rainforest hidden inside a European city.

Light pours in from above, casting shifting patterns across the water and the abundant foliage. It is lush, but never overdone. Bohemian, but tightly curated.

The suites, all 87 of them, are generously sized and impeccably detailed. Four-poster Balinese beds anchor each space, set against a palette of natural wood, stone and soft textiles.

While its aesthetic is unmistakably tropical, Manon Les Suites is not simply a set piece. The hotel belongs to the eco-conscious Guldsmeden group, whose properties throughout Denmark and beyond follow rigorous sustainability standards.

The hotel is certified by both Green Globe and Green Key, and the entire operation is free of single-use plastics. From chemical-free cleaning practices to the in-room compostable coffee pods, it is thoughtful hospitality at every level.

Upstairs, the rooftop spa offers a more Nordic kind of indulgence. A panoramic sauna, steam room and cold plunge overlook Copenhagen’s rooftops, and there is a sundeck that feels like a members’ club without the need for exclusivity.

The fitness centre is unusually serious for a boutique property and is often empty at off-peak hours, perfect for those who prefer their training solo.

Chapung, the in-house restaurant, extends the experience into dining. The menu is pan-Asian with a restrained, modern approach: light broths, spiced greens, delicate seafood and shareable plates.

While not a full-scale culinary destination, it suits the tone of the hotel; elegant, unfussy and deeply satisfying.

The service matches the setting. The team operates with quiet confidence, never overreaching, but always available. They know the art of subtle luxury, anticipating rather than reacting.
Manon Les Suites is located within walking distance of Copenhagen’s best. The lakes are moments away, and the city’s creative quarters, Nørrebro and Vesterbro, lie just beyond.

Inside, however, the hotel feels like a world unto itself. It doesn't offer escapism, but immersion; a rare kind of atmosphere where time seems to slow, and the city outside fades into temporary insignificance.
