Wait, This Is Tokyo?
Think you know Tokyo? Think again. Beyond the skyscrapers, ramen alleys, and endless train lines lies something truly unexpected: a luxury theater in the middle of the mountains, with just one seat, and it’s all yours.

Welcome to THEATER1, a one-of-a-kind escape tucked into the lush wilderness of Hinohara Village. Just 90 minutes from central Tokyo, it’s close enough for a spontaneous weekend and far enough to feel like another world entirely.
THEATER1 sits alone on a vast 5,000-tsubo property, around 16,500 square meters of untouched wilderness.
At 600 meters above sea level, it overlooks the sweeping Asama Ridge. When you arrive, the city disappears behind you. No buildings, no roads in sight.
Just trees, sky, and a view that seems too beautiful to belong to Tokyo.
This is a completely private stay. Only one group per day is welcomed, meaning the entire space is yours to enjoy.
Step outside and you’ll find a hot tub, perfect for soaking under the open sky, surrounded by the sounds of nature.
The show continues with a tent sauna nestled among the trees, perfect for unwinding with a refreshing outdoor air bath.
Whether you want to read, stream a film, take a nap to the sound of birdsong, or do absolutely nothing at all, this is your stage.
Meals are crafted from local ingredients and served in style. There’s no dress code here, just mountain air and complete freedom.

Hinohara Village is the only village in all of Tokyo (excluding the islands), and it feels like a secret. With 90% of its land covered in forest, it’s a haven of waterfalls, mountain trails, hot springs, and untouched beauty.
While the rest of Tokyo rushes, Hinohara invites you to slow down and take a deep breath.
At THEATER1, you’re not checking into a hotel. You’re stepping into your own private nature film, no other guests, no schedule, and no distractions. Just you and the mountains, with the best seat in the house.
So if you’ve ever wondered what Tokyo looks like without the buildings, noise, or crowds, now you know where to find it.
And once you arrive, don’t be surprised if you never want the credits to roll.
