In honour of its 50th anniversary, Swiss watchmaker Maurice Lacroix unveils a trio of limited-edition timepieces that embody the brand’s enduring ethos and deep connection to its origins in the scenic Franches-Montagnes.

This latest release, the 1975 Legacy collection, is a bold yet graceful homage to the maison’s heritage, proudly brought to life in Saignelégier.

Since its founding in 1975, Maurice Lacroix has made its home in the tranquil village of Saignelégier, set within the verdant expanse of the Franches-Montagnes.

The natural beauty of this region has long influenced the brand’s design language. To commemorate this significant milestone, Maurice Lacroix presents three distinctive timepieces, each limited in production yet united by a shared dedication to fine finishing.

These techniques, typically reserved for the esteemed Masterpiece collection, affirm the house’s commitment to exceptional craftsmanship and value.

1975 Automatic Saignelégier Blue

Inspired by the landscapes surrounding the Manufacture, the 1975 Automatic Saignelégier Blue showcases the intricate Vagues du Jura dial motif, first seen in a Masterpiece model.

This elegant pattern captures the undulating contours of the Jura hills and reflects light with subtle complexity. The rich blue tone, known as Saignelégier Blue, is a revived archival shade, linking past and present.

Facetted dauphine-style hands and applied trapeze-shaped hour markers offer clarity, while the date window at three o’clock is set on a matching blue disc, a detail esteemed by horological purists. A central sweep seconds hand completes the timekeeping functions.

The 40 mm stainless steel case combines brushed and polished surfaces, housing the slim ML155 automatic calibre. Just 9 mm thick, it delivers a 56-hour power reserve and is visible through a sapphire crystal caseback.

The movement is decorated with perlage, colimaçon finishing and an oscillating weight bearing the Vagues du Jura motif.

Presented on a matching leather strap, the watch includes the Maurice Lacroix Easy Strap Exchange system for effortless personalisation. The caseback is engraved Limited Edition of 888 pieces.

1975 Automatic GMT Silver Mist

The second piece in the series is the 1975 Automatic GMT Silver Mist, a timepiece inspired by the ethereal stillness of dawn in the Jura hills.

The dial’s Vagues du Jura motif, shrouded in a subtle silver hue, evokes the landscape cloaked in morning mist. A vintage-style box sapphire crystal lends a soft glow to the dial's textured canvas.

Golden hands and indices bring a warm contrast, while an openworked red-tipped GMT hand allows for a second time zone display, an essential feature for the discerning traveller.

The solid caseback mirrors the nature-themed engraving found on the Sapin Green model and bears the inscription, Limited Edition of 200 pieces. Beneath lies the ML165 automatic movement, delivering precision and enduring reliability.

A black leather strap with an alligator-style finish and a stainless steel deployant buckle ensures comfort and sophistication. The Easy Strap Exchange system once again offers adaptability for every occasion.

1975 Automatic Day Date Sapin Green

Completing the anniversary collection, and set to launch in autumn 2025, is a refined tribute to the Jura landscape.

The 1975 Automatic Day Date Sapin Green draws its name and distinctive hue from the fir trees (sapins) that blanket the surrounding hillsides.

The textured Vagues du Jura dial motif is rendered in a deep green, further enhanced by a box sapphire crystal that heightens its visual depth.

As with its siblings, the watch features dauphine-style hands and trapezoidal markers. In addition to the date at three o’clock, this model introduces a day complication at twelve, adding functional elegance.

On the reverse, a solid caseback is engraved with a depiction of two horses standing among fir trees, an homage to the Franches-Montagnes breed native to the area. The inscription, Limited Edition of 500 pieces, underscores its exclusivity.

Crafted in a 40 mm stainless steel case and presented on a five-row bracelet with alternating finishes, this edition also benefits from the Easy Strap Exchange system for added versatility.
