Galerie Urs Meile has announced that acclaimed Swiss artist Klodin Erb will be joining the gallery.

A leading figure in contemporary Swiss art, Erb was born in Winterthur in 1963 and lives and works in Zurich. In 2022, she was awarded the prestigious Prix Meret Oppenheim, recognising a career defined by bold experimentation and conceptual depth.

This autumn, her work will be showcased in solo exhibitions at the Aargauer Kunsthaus and the Musée des Beaux-Arts Le Locle.

Erb’s visual worlds are vivid, emotionally attuned, and richly layered — shaped by her acute sensitivity to the present and her refusal to treat painting as a fixed form.

Her practice embraces transformation, allowing technique to follow idea, and drawing freely from art history, mythology, popular culture, literature, and the digital sphere.

She expands painting’s potential by integrating installation, film, and collage, building an expansive and ever-evolving body of work.

Spanning more than three decades, Erb’s œuvre opens space for dialogue across time, linking early and recent works in new constellations that reward reflection and close looking.

Her debut with Galerie Urs Meile will take place during Zurich Art Weekend on 13 June, in the inaugural group exhibition Anker Protocol – 1.0, marking the opening of the gallery’s new Ankerstrasse location.

Her work will also appear at the gallery’s booth at Art Basel in Basel.
