Erling Haaland Just Put Space on His Wrist

What does it mean to wear time, not as numbers, but as a story?

In their newest collaboration, Breitling and global football phenomenon Erling Haaland answer that question with a material forged not on Earth but in space.

The result is a meteorite dial crafted from a rock born in the heart of a dying star over 4.5 billion years ago.

These watches don’t simply tell time; they embody it, shaped by cosmic forces, elite performance, and rare craftsmanship.

At the heart of this collection is the Muonionalusta meteorite, a material that predates the planet upon which it now rests.

Scattered across northern Sweden’s glacial moraines, each fragment is a relic from deep space, formed over billions of years through ultra-slow cooling in the vacuum of space.

Its Widmanstätten pattern, a natural crystalline structure, emerges only under extremely specific cosmic conditions, making every dial unique and impossible to replicate.

This is the first time Breitling has used meteorite in a dial. The result? A stunning, interstellar canvas where luxury meets geology and time is carved from the stars.

Erling Haaland co-designed every element of this collection. Known for his meteoric rise through European football, from debuting in Norway at 15 to smashing Premier League records with Manchester City, Haaland’s influence is everywhere in these designs.

“I wanted something one of a kind,” says Haaland. “The Chronomat just clicked... and the meteorite makes each one different. You're never going to see the same watch on someone else's wrist.”

The lineup includes:

  • Chronomat Automatic GMT 40: Limited to 500 pieces, in stainless steel with a platinum bezel. It features a meteorite dial, red-gold GMT hand, Haaland’s initials on the seconds hand, and his goal-celebration pose engraved on the caseback.
  • Chronomat B01 42: Limited to 250 pieces, this model comes in 18k red gold with a meteorite dial and contrasting black subdials. Powered by the Breitling Manufacture Calibre 01, it boasts a 70-hour power reserve and sapphire crystal caseback.
  • “ONE OF 5” Ultra-Exclusive Edition: Created exclusively for Haaland and his inner circle. Crafted in red gold, with bespoke engravings and a transparent caseback, this edition remains unavailable to the public; a deeply personal tribute to Haaland’s journey.

All models come in a custom wooden box with a signed thank-you note from Haaland himself, adding a human touch to the celestial materiality.

The Chronomat, first introduced in 1983, was originally developed for the elite Italian aerial squadron, Frecce Tricolori. With its iconic rider-tab bezel and rouleaux bracelet, it’s a symbol of mechanical confidence and bold design.

Both Haaland editions stay true to that DNA, combining high-performance mechanics with contemporary edge.

The rubber strap options echo Haaland’s athleticism, while the red-gold case and platinum bezel elevate the aesthetic to something distinctly luxurious; luxury as performance, not just presentation.

The Haaland Signature Chronomat stands apart because it tells a personal and planetary story. It unites space and sport, heritage and rarity, precision and power.

In Haaland’s words, “Every detail told a part of my story.” In Breitling’s vision, that story is universal.

This is a talisman of excellence, forged in the cosmos, made rare by nature, and shaped by human hands and ambition.
