Cunard’s Glamorous Past Unveiled
Discover Cunard’s glamorous legacy in a new exhibition featuring rare photos, iconic guests and 185 years of ocean travel history.

Marking 185 years of distinguished maritime history, Sea of Glamour is a new exhibition curated by esteemed photographer Mary McCartney.

It presents an evocative journey through the golden age of ocean travel, told through rarely seen images from Cunard’s private archives alongside personal contributions from guests worldwide.

The collection offers a glimpse into the elegance and prestige that has long defined Cunard, featuring icons such as Elizabeth Taylor, Rita Hayworth, Bing Crosby and Queen Elizabeth II.

These are deeply personal photographs that celebrate everything from transatlantic crossings to family milestones and voyages of new beginnings.

Sea of Glamour will be on public display at Liverpool’s Royal Liver Building from 28 May to 17 June 2025, with free admission during standard opening hours.

Following its Liverpool debut, the exhibition will travel the globe aboard the Cunard fleet, offering a rare visual narrative of nearly two centuries of maritime heritage, where each image reflects the timeless allure of life at sea.
